Leadership Empowerment Action Project (LEAP)
Training Opportunities
LEAP
participants are encouraged to tell their own stories,
understand these experiences in the context of our history and
our community, and use this knowledge to identify steps toward
change. LEAP
provides information, skill-building, and support in:
components of leadership, economic literacy,
understanding individual and organizational change, economic and
political issues in child care, effective communication skills,
building alliances, grassroots organizing, advocacy, and more.
Participants have said:
- I am less intimidated by being one at the table
without a voice. I now have something to say.
- LEAP pulled a lot out of me and I am glad. Sometimes
that deep-within ability must be called forth.
- I do not feel so alone. I am more rested mentally
and I feel a new empowerment.
