We survived the summer budget impasse!
Thank the Governor and legislators for passing a budget that kept early childhood funding whole, and even provided for some modest increases. In this time of retrenchment, it was a strong statement about the importance of investing in our youngest children. Let them know that you're counting on them to continue this support into the coming year.
Start planning now for Early Childhood Action Day, June 8, 2010. More and more programs are taking Action Day as a professional development day, closing down and bringing staff and parents to Harrisburg to educate our legislators about the importance of early childhood. If you have an in-service on the calendar for a different day in the spring, it's easy to change.
