DVAEYC provides professional development opportunities to early childhood practitioners through workshops, conferences, and learning institutes of the highest quality.  We can help you your meet your goals, whether it be NAEYC/NAFCC accreditation, increasing your STARS rating, or improving an area of curriculum. 

All DVAEYC professional development staff have extensive background in their chosen topic areas and are Pennsylvania Quality Assurance System (PQAS) certified.  We serve as the coordinator for the Southeast Regional Key’s need-based workshops in Montgomery, Delaware, Chester and Bucks counties.

  • Are you having any PDOs near me?

  • How much does an on-site PDO cost?
    • Our fee for service rate is $150 per hour, however there are discounts available for sites that use 12 hours or more in a calendar year.

FAQ Practitioners

  •   I need a training for my PDR.  Can you help?
  • How much does training cost?
    •  Typically our PDOs are subsidized by the SERK so we can offer them for prices starting as low as $10.  DVAEYC members receive a 50% discount on all PDOs.  To become a member, click here.
  • What is a PDR?
  •   I need info on your conference
  •     I need ACT 48 credits.  Can you provide them?
    •  Yes.  All of our workshops are ACT 48 qualified.

FAQ Parents

  • Can parents attend workshops?
    • Yes.  You will need to register with the PA Key to be able to do so.  If you need help with that, call us at 215 893 0130.
  • How can I tell if my child’s site has qualified or well trained teachers?
    • Ask.  All licensed sites require a minimum of 6 hours of professional development annually.  Sites involved with quality initiatives (Success By 6, Pre K Counts, STARS) may require as much as 24 hours per year.  Talk to your site’s director to find out what their professional development plan is.  All PDOs are recorded and participants should have signed certificates of attendance.
