NAEYC Accreditation Support

Committed to excellence in early care and education, DVAEYC provides technical assistance support to programs seeking first time or re-accreditation under the NAEYC national accreditation system.  Established in 1985, NAEYC’s voluntary accreditation system sets professional standards for early childhood education programs, and helps families identify high-quality programs. DVAEYC can provide coaching and resources to programs that are pursuing accreditation.  Contact phyllis@dvaeyc.org for more information on our services.

Family Child Care Accreditation Program

With support from the Pew Charitable Trust and other local foundations, DVAEYC is able to convene a family child care accreditation support project. The project offers family and group child care practitioners professional development, technical assistance for Keystone STARS and technical support to achieve national accreditation through the National Association of Family Child Care (NAFCC).  Being accredited is an indicator for children, parents, employers and communities that family child care homes offer safe, nurturing and educational experiences that meet the needs of individual children. Contact sarah@dvaeyc.org for more information about family child care accreditation.

Keystone STARS Technical Assistance

Contracted through the Southeast Regional Key, DVAEYC provides a specialized technical assistance service to support the early childcare programs and practitioners who are working to achieve higher STAR levels through Keystone STARS, an initiative of the Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) to improve, support, and recognize the continuous quality improvement efforts of early learning programs in Pennsylvania.

Experienced and trained in the field of early childhood education DVAEYC staff provide technical assistance to programs who have completed the Core Series (a series of professional development sessions) and  have applied for TA through STAR specialist.  STARS TA may take many forms, including mentoring, demonstrating and one on one consulting. DVAEYC staff work closely with facilities to develop an individualized service plan that outlines goals and objectives aimed at achieving a specified knowledge area or STAR performance standard.  DVAEYC staff are trained to provide technical assistance in these areas: Early Learning Program /Curriculum, Partnerships with Families and Community, Leadership/Management, and Staff Qualifications.

For more information about DVAEYC’s work with STARS programs, contact Lisa Schultz at lisa@dvaeyc.org

Success by 6 – A Project of United Way of Southeastern PA

DVAEYC is currently working with 32 child care programs through the Success by Six Initiative. Coordinated by United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania, this project provides opportunity for DVAEYC, the Philadelphia Early Childhood Collaborative, Montgomery Early Learning Centers and the Southeastern Regional Key to combine resources and, through training and technical assistance, to help programs move through the Keystone Stars system to achieve at least a Star Three designation.  The goal of Success by Six is to help at least 320 programs over the next five years move to a STAR 3 or higher level.
