History & Mission

DVAEYC was incorporated in 1967 by a group of early childhood educators. Affiliated with the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), DVAEYC works to improve educational opportunity for young children (birth-eight) in Southeastern Pennsylvania by: providing professional development services to early childhood practitioners; offering technical assistance to early childhood programs to meet higher standards of quality, and; engaging in advocacy to increase public sector investments in quality early childhood education.
