Join us this year as we Take a Walk on the Wild Side! Connecting Children with Nature. This year’s Conference will highlight best practices in environmental education to help promote active nature exploration and unstructured play in early childhood development. Strengthen the bonds betwween children and nature!
President and Founder, Green Hearts Institute for Nature in Childhood
In 2005, Ken Finch founded Green Hearts as one of the country’s first non-profit conservation organizations entirely dedicated to restoring and strengthening the bonds between children and nature. Green Hearts’ philosophy is grounded in research that reveals that frequent, unstructured childhood play in natural areas is the most common influence on the development of life-long conservation values, while it simultaneously supports children’s social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and creative development.
The Ooey Gooey Lady ®
Lisa Murphy believes that in order for children to be “ready” for school, they need to have time to PLAY. The best places for them to play are in child-centered environments. Whether within homes, preschools, family child care homes, kindergartens, or child care centers, children need to have the opportunity to be engaged in experiences that are relevant and meaningful to them.
Ooey Gooey, Inc. is committed to providing parents, educators and administrators with the knowledge, facts and research that supports this educational philosophy. And it is this information that Lisa shares during the workshops she presents, all over the world.
